Hillsborough Residence Renovation

At Space Cadets, we work hard to integrate cutting-edge technology into everyday life, making complex systems intuitive and accessible. For this project, we worked with a family in Hillsborough as they went through an extensive home renovation.

The goal was to create an easy to use, ubiquitis technology experience throughout their comfortable home and amazing, kid friendly backyard.

• Two Entertainment Spaces: We installed two 85” 8K televisions—one paired with an ambient lighting system that automatically aligns with the on-screen content. Both entertainment rooms were outfitted with premium audio, including rear in-ceiling surround speakers and a wireless subwoofer.
• Discreet Equipment Integration: To maintain a clean aesthetic, all critical equipment was consolidated into a small rack discreetly located in a linen closet.
• Unseen, Whole-Home Audio: Music is available throughout the entire house and backyard through discrete in-ceiling and outdoor speakers.  Each area can be independently controlled so each family member can listen to their preferred music, or a single soundtrack can play throughout the property for parties or backyard BBQs.
• High-Performance Networking: The home is covered by a single, unified wireless network. A wired network core manages the entire system, and strategically placed wired access points provide strong, consistent Wi-Fi for Zoom calls, streaming, and the work-from-home office—all while remaining unobtrusive.
• Home Security: We installed outdoor security cameras and a video doorbell so the homeowners can see visitors or packages whether they’re home or away.
• Intuitive Lighting Control: We coordinated with the interior design studio to implement a smart lighting system that fits the renovated space and allows the family to set the right ambiance for any occasion.
